Trusting Thursday - Faithfulness is attractive!

Trusting God. Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Who do you think of in the Bible when you ponder on trust? I am sure many come to mind when we think of trusting God. So many had put their trust in God when things seemed impossible.

Do we show or have the type of trust in God? One example as a woman that comes to mind is Ruth. What an amazing story of love and trust. Ruth is married to Naomi's son and he passes away along with Naomi's husband and other son. Naomi is left by herself.

So she decides to travel back home and her daughter inlaws are traveling with her but she tells them to return to their own families. One does go back but not Ruth. She decides that she will not leave Naomi to fend for herself. She loves Naomi and has decided to be her family.

They go back and Ruth goes to find food for the both of them. God is looking out for them both and leads her to Boaz who takes good care of Ruth. He has heard her story and knows that she has traveled with her mother-in-law. It impresses him and he begins to look at Ruth as attractive.

Ruth 2:11-12

"11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

12 The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

He goes before the next in their to the land of Naomi's to help Ruth and Naomi to obtain their land once again because it is now time to return the land to Naomi's family. Of course Naomi's husband has passed away and it needs to go to the next male in line."

Boaz works it out that he will be able to marry Ruth and gain the land for her and Naomi. God is good! He takes care of us when we are faithful. Ruth was faithful to Naomi and God. Her faithfulness was attractive to Boaz. When we are faithful to God we are blessed and we attract others to Christ.

Today, be faithful and trust God even if it seems unimaginable or impossible because God knows everything and will lead us into green pastures!
