Media is causing loneliness

We are living in a world full of media.....television, social media, newspapers and radio. Our children have access to these platforms within the home, at school, at a friends house or with other family members.
Media negatively impacts their ability to control their emotions and the way they communicate with others. Many parents are so focused on their devices that the children of today are growing up on their own. We need to be mindful of what we are doing in front of our children and what we are allowing our children to do themselves.
Even if we are using our devices for good they can take away from those right infront of us. We may be trying to witness to those on Facebook or send encouraging words to our friends but our children need encouragement as well. They are right there with us and we ignore them at times.
I want to challenge you to make a schedule with your devices. Put them away during the day and give full attention to your family and truly spend time together. Pull out the phone for thirty minutes throughout the day and then put it back away. If you are a mom who works during the day then put your phone away once the kids are back in your care and only pull it out one time before they go to bed for thirty minutes and handle everything else after they go to bed.
Your kids will be grown in a blink of an eye and they need time spent with you. They need to learn and develop in nature and not this artificial environment through the web! Everyone was smoking cigarettes at one point because they didn't realize the dangers and I am afraid we are going to see the same results with social media. It causes depression and suicidal thoughts by trying to keep up with everyone who looks so happy in pictures. Make
a change today and show your children they matter most!
