Trusting Thursday - Do you want to be a snowflake or no structure?

Trust.... 🤔? Have you ever thought on where or what or who you place your trust in?

I started watching a series called distraction dilemma. I had been told by several people to watch this series but because I had watched media on the brain, I felt like I did not need to watch distraction dilemma.

Well, when it was actually handed to me in my hand a few weeks ago, during a struggling time in my life, I thought hmmmm.....I better watch this series. When God continues to present something before you, it would be best to heed to His voice and request.

My husband and I began the series last night. We only watched the first video but it was amazingly interesting. My children were watching as well and my son said, "wow! I thought this would be boring but this guy makes it interesting!" 😂

As I listened to their story on their connection with music while growing up, I could totally relate. Music was definitely a go to when upset. Whether I was mad, sad or happy, music would help me live out these feelings. As I listened to one of the presenters, which was the wife, tell her story on when she would have a break up, she would turn on sad music and wallow. I thought, wow that is exactly what I did. Or when she was mad, she would play music that she could let out her frustration with and once again I related. Music can be the element that most people put their trust in.

Now I know that sounds silly, putting your trust in something that doesn't have feelings or can embrace you but it can make you feel a certain way. Trusting is relying on someone or SOMETHING!

So, when we are struggling with a certain feeling and we go turn on the music first thing to enhance our feelings. Then we are relying on this music to understand us and to make us feel empowered in whatever we are wanting to feel at the moment. Music is powerful. Christian Berdahl, the speaker, was showing results of an experiment someone had conducted. They had taken water and placed it into a cylinder. Then they placed it in the freezer with music playing and the water froze in different shapes. When the music was peaceful, good quality music, the water would shape into a beautiful structure of a snowflake ❄️. But when the music was of a bad quality, the water would freeze in a chaotic way taking on no structure.

He pointed out that we are made up on how much water? We are 60 percent water and our blood is 90 percent water..... 🧐. What do you think music may do to our structures then? That is something to think about. We need to be wise in what we put our trust in!
