Temperance Tuesday - Do we think about our thoughts?

Do we think about our thoughts? Like this picture our thoughts go everywhere. Even while we're praying, we think about what we have to do today. Then we get stressed out, realize we're still praying and then we have to ask God to help us stay focused. Our thoughts can be very evil or they can be good. We have to make our own choices from our thoughts. What decision will we make? Today, I want you all to think about your thoughts and say in your mind "would Jesus want me to say/do this?"

All good thoughts come from God. All evil thoughts come from satan. "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Matthew 6:24 KJV. We have to choose this day whom we will serve.

Our thoughts can be very, very powerful and can have a big impact on us. We can have mood swings such as being rude one minute and the next being friendly. These actions all stem from our thoughts. Our thoughts turn into actions. We must choose to control our thoughts. For example, I went to Florida the last week of January. While we were visiting, my grandmother and I had to take my great grandmother to a doctors appointment to get a covid test. We called to let the nurse know we were there. The nurse came out and was very rude to my great grandmother, so my grandmother prayed. When the nurse came out again she was very nice and friendly. We may never know what caused the nurse to be rude in the first place but we can rest assure God can help us through prayer to change our mood or the way people around us talk to us.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-8

So whenever you have a thought to be unkind say a silent prayer and allow God to work kindness through you. This is what the world needs.
