Sunlight Sunday - Lord God is a sun and Shield!

Psalm 84:11 King James Version 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

When we think of the sun and it's attributes, what do we think of?

• There is a famous song that states that the sun will come out tomorrow. The sun is reliable. It will always come out the next day, no matter what.

• We cannot look directly at the sun because it can ruin our eyes and it hurts to look at the sun directly.

• The sun guides us. When it is dark outside we cannot see but we can see when the sun is shining. We know where we are going in the light and what's before us.

• The sun gives nutrients to plants, animals and humans. Without the sun we would be very brittle and weak.

God uses nature to give us lessons. In order for us to understand God, we can look at nature and how it works. He created it for us and everything has order. He is order. When we compare God to the sun we can see similarities.

• We can always rely on God.

• As sinners we cannot come in His direct presence without dying. We are to go through the process of justification, sanctification and one day when Jesus returns we will go through glorification which will allow for us to be in His presence again because of John 3:16......

• God guides us by the Holy Spirit.

• God takes care of even the sparrow. He has created all of our nutrients like fruits, veggies, herbs.
