Sanctified Saturday - the heart is deceitful.

Jeremiah 17:9 says The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

We are taught in society that we can only rely on ourselves but the truth is we can't even do that. We are deceitful in nature and can not trust ourselves at all. We will reason why we did something we shouldn't have or blame someone else for why we might have done something we shouldn't have. We need a new concept to think on. We have been conformed by the world and don't even realize it most of the time until we start looking to Christ and realize wow 😲, I think so differently now that Christ has opened my eyes to see error. The closer we get to God, we realize things we say without thinking might not actually be okay to say. For example: have you ever said I was lucky? Think about luck? It excludes God. We are not lucky, we have a heavenly Father who looks out for our best interest and can use anything to our good.

Proverbs 3:5-7

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Remember: it is not that we can only rely on ourselves but that we can only rely on God!
