Sanctified Saturday - Adding to the Word is just as dangerous as taking away!

The Holy Spirit is always inspiring me on Sabbath at church on what to write on the blog. We should always dwell on the power of God, on His character and the Words He speaks in the Bible.
Today we were actually discussing Eve and the fall in Genesis. Eve had actually added to the Word of God when speaking to the serpent. God said in Genesis 2:
"16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
When Eve spoke with the serpent she said in Genesis 3 "2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."
So she actually added the touch to what God had spoke and Satan used this opportunity to snare her by plucking the fruit and placing it into her hand. Satan will use anything we say against us. That is why God states in Deuteronomy 4:2: "2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."
God is good and always gives us warning ⚠️! So remember that it is not only important to not take away from the Word but not to add to the Word either!

Amen! Pray that God will help us in obedience to His words but not to add or take away.
