I know as mothers we can relate to hectic lives. No matter our lifestyles. No matter if our children are in school or homeschooled. Whether they are young or older children. Most of us realize through the stages of life with children that life doesn't get easier as much as just different. We play different roles in our children lives as they grow.
I remember when my children were babies, I thought, once they can walk for themselves things will be easier. Well, they began to walk and I thought well, when they can use the potty life will be easier. Then they used the bathroom and I thought well once they understand they have boundaries life will be easier. Then they began to voice their opinions and I thought, oh no, how do I manage their thought process.
I want my children to be Christ like and not blurt out the first thing they think because let's face it, most of the time our first thought is not inline with Christ.
We rush around making sure that everyone is fed, clothed, bathed, rooms cleaned, dishes done and of course the never ending loads of laundry completed! Then to top it off we need to make sure that we have exercised, planned healthy meals, took in some fresh air, absorbed some sunlight, drank enough water and most importantly spent enough time with God to form a relationship! After all of that we still are missing something......REST!
We need rest to accomplish the long lists of to dos! Of course God will see us through all the tasks of life (thankfully because I know I couldn't get through this life without God.) God has given us night to sleep. We need sleep to function and God knew we would need this. God is order. He had a plan for us to remain healthy physically and spiritually by providing us with eight laws of health.
During our worship this morning, we read when Jacob is leaving home because he has stolen his brother's birthright with the aid of his mother. As he was leaving home worried, worried that his sin had separated him from God for eternity, he fell asleep. During his sleep, God shares a dream with him as we know as Jacob's ladder. Genesis 28:12 "And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it." This ladder is Jesus. Because of what Jesus did on the cross we can have access to the divine nature to become a NEW man/woman. Not an improved man/woman. Jacob later is struggling with God and has a name change to Israel because he is new not improved.
We need our rest. Sometimes rest in God to find spiritual truth and literal sleep in order to be renewed and refreshed. God can speak to us as we sleep as well like He did with Jacob. Make sure you get some rest with God and plenty of sleep to be able to handle the trials of life with plenty of vigor!

Thank you for this Monday-madness blog. I’m learning from what you’re writing about being a mother and how things might get easier as the baby gets a little older to do things on its own. however that’s not the case because each stage of baby is different stage of working. We always find rest in God at the end. Resting for both our physical and spiritual. 🙏🏻 amen!
