Foodie Friday - unrefined or refined?


We need fat......what!?!! We need healthy fat to help absorb vitamins especially vitamin D. We need to stay away from fats that are dangerous to our health and partake of yummy plant fats!


Olive and coconut oil are the best oils for you but with that said......fried foods even in these oils are dangerous. The high heating of these oils cause dangerous chemicals to be formed.


Also, when buying these oils you want them to be unrefined and virgin oils! If you get refined oils then they already put them through the high heat process and add chemicals.


The food industry wants food to look appealing and want their sales to go up. Sometimes that isn't the best choice.


There is more to learn about fats that we should eat and not eat but I believe that this week let us concentrate on this topic of refined and unrefined oils. Let us try to be more mindful of what we're are taking in as far as these oils go!
