Boosting immunity

Boosting your immunity is key to staying healthy during the winter and throughout the year. Did you know that there are ways to boost our immunity that doesn't cost a dime?

Sleep 💤😴 - getting the eight hours of sleep recommended is vital for repairing our body and giving it the environment to be strong when faced with sickness or disease. When we sleep, our bodies produce a protein called cytokines, which target infection and inflammation, creating an immune response. Our bodies also produce T-cells during sleep, which are white blood cells that play a critical role in our body's immune response to an infectious disease such as COVID-19.

Exercise 💪 - walking briskly five times a week for thirty minutes will purify your blood supply and increasing natural killer T cells. Making your body fit to fight sickness or diseases that try to invade your system!

Sunshine ☀️ - vitamin D is critical for a healthy immunity, so exposure to sunlight will strengthen immunity.

Water 🌊💦 - Water is a key component of lymphatic fluid.

The lymphatic fluid contains specialized white blood cells, called lymphocytes, that help the body fight infection. As the lymphatic fluid circulates, it helps remove waste products, toxins, and impurities from your body – including bacteria and viruses.

Fresh air 🌬️ - By increasing the amount of fresh air we get, will increase the amount of oxygen which helps our white blood cells function properly by fighting and killing bacteria and germs.

Temperance - it takes temperance to exercise five times a week, sleep eight hours a night, spend time in the sun and fresh air daily and of course with diet. If we are careful with the amount of sugar we take in then we can keep our immunity strong! Foods that significantly raise blood sugar, such as those high in added sugars, increase the production of inflammatory proteins like tumor necrosis alpha, C-reactive protein, and interleukin-6, all of which negatively affect immune function.

Diet 🍆🥒 🍓 - eating large amounts of fruit and vegetables increases the growth of healthy microbes which break down fibers. Fibers are then able to stimulate cell activity.

Now, of course there are herbs to give an extra boost as well such as echinacea, elderberry, ginger, astragalus root, and manuka honey.

Most importantly, having a relationship with God can boost your immunity. Stress is a huge factor in sickness and disease. We can lay our burdens at Jesus' feet and have a peace that passes all understanding. Also, ninety nine percent of disease is in the mind. Our mind can control disease. A happy cheery heart is the best medicine. With Jesus we can live a happy and healthy life! Spend time with your creator and allow Him to boost your immunity!
